Overcoming adversity and life鈥檚 challenges have shaped, in part, who Laura Rizo is today.

Rizo will share experiences of overcoming poverty, mental illness and identity to help attendees meet their challenges with tenacity during the College Readiness Education for Students in Transition (CREST) program鈥檚 annual motivational speaking event from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 黑料网.

"Laura Rizo's journey of overcoming poverty, mental illness, and identity challenges exemplifies resilience and strength,鈥� said 黑料网 President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. 鈥淗er story will inspire students to face their own obstacles with determination and hope. We are pleased to have her at this motivational speaking event."

Like last year鈥檚 speaker, Zach Gowen, Rizo represents CoolSpeak. She is a former teacher and school counselor and is currently a doctoral candidate at National University.
